FAQS
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Hair is based on texture not skin color or race. There is straight hair and textured hair.
- Hair Shaft Shape:
- Straight hair has a round or oval hair shape
- Textured hair is often more elliptical in shape & contributes to curly pattern
- Natural Oils Distribution:
- Straight hair: Oils more easily travel down the hair shaft
- Textured hair: Oils have a more difficult time traveling down the hair shaft which makes the hair more prone to dryness
- Tangling
-
- Straight hair: Less prone to tangling
- Textured hair: More prone to tangling if not properly moisturized.
- Start with moisturizing because coarse hair tends to be drier.
- Section the hair into manageable sections.
- Begin detangling with a wide tooth comb or your fingers. Start at the tips of the hair and work your way up to the roots. It is best to detangle textured hair when it’s wet.
It’s crucial to be patient and gentle during the combing process to minimize breakage and maintain the overall health of the hair.
The frequency of shampooing textured hair can vary depending on factors such as hair type, personal preference, and lifestyle. Coarse or textured hair tends to be drier than straight hair, and over shampooing and stripped the hair of its natural oils. Many individuals with curly or quality here find that shampooing once a week or even less frequently works well for them. Wavy hair falls between straight and curly hair, and the ideal frequency of shampooing may vary. Some individuals with wavy hair find that shampooing every 2 to 3 days or once a week is sufficient.

- Apply a generous amount of Dudley’s Moisturizing Conditioner to the hair, massaging it through to the ends of the hair shaft. Leave on hair for five minutes & rinse well.
